Clear Aligners in Englewood, CO

At Sopris Smiles, clear aligner treatment is built on a foundation most dental offices cannot offer. Dr. Golnaz Samimifar partners with Dr. Matthew Stout, a board-certified orthodontist through BeSmyle, to co-plan every case — because a truly great result means a healthy bite, stable gums, and a smile that holds up for years, not just straight teeth. With over 1,000 hours of continuing education and CBCT-guided digital planning, our approach goes well beyond what you will find at a typical aligner provider.

Orthodontic Treatment Designed for Health, Function, and Long-Term Stability

At Sopris Smiles, we believe orthodontic treatment should do more than create straighter teeth. True orthodontic care should support long-term oral health, balanced function, healthy gums and bone, and a naturally beautiful smile that lasts. That’s why we focus exclusively on advanced clear aligner therapy.

Dr. Golnaz Samimifar works closely with Dr. Matthew Stout, a board-certified orthodontist and founder of BeSmyle, to oversee all our clear aligner treatments, creating streamlined, highly personalized plans focused on esthetics, function, longevity, and overall oral health. Our Englewood dentist follows a holistic approach to dental care, considering your entire oral health when developing your treatment plan. With Dr. Golnaz’s extensive experience and over 1,000 hours of continuing education, we provide exceptional orthodontic care using the latest advanced technology, including digital scanning and our state-of-the-art CBCT scanner for the most precise treatment planning.

Whether you are dealing with crowding, spacing, bite issues, or shifting teeth over time, our clear aligner approach is designed to improve both the appearance and long-term health of your smile.

Why Straight Teeth Matter for Long-Term Oral Health

Straight teeth are about far more than cosmetics.

When teeth are properly aligned, biting forces are distributed more evenly throughout the mouth. This balanced function can help reduce excessive wear, chipping, fractures, and stress on individual teeth over time.

Aligned teeth are also significantly easier to keep clean. Crowded or overlapping teeth create difficult-to-reach areas where plaque and bacteria can accumulate, increasing the risk of:

Tooth decay
Gum inflammation
Bone loss
Gum recession
Periodontal disease
Chronic bad breath

By improving tooth position and bite alignment, clear aligners can help support healthier gums, stronger bone support, and improved long-term stability for your smile.

Many patients are surprised to learn that orthodontic treatment can play an important role in preventive dentistry and whole-mouth health.

Same-Day Technology

Advanced dental technology for efficient, comfortable treatments with same-day results and faster healing.

Benefits of Clear Teeth Aligners for Adults and Teens

Clear aligners offer numerous advantages over traditional orthodontic treatments, making them an increasingly popular choice for patients seeking teeth straightening solutions.

Aesthetic Advantages

The most apparent benefit of clear aligners is their near invisibility. The transparent material makes them difficult to notice in everyday social interactions, helping you maintain your confidence throughout treatment. This aesthetic advantage makes clear aligners particularly appealing for adults in professional settings and for teens concerned about their appearance who are seeking cosmetic dental care.

Comfort and Convenience of Removable Aligners

Without metal brackets and wires, clear aligners eliminate common discomforts associated with traditional braces. Their smooth plastic design means no irritation to your cheeks and gums. Additionally, clear aligners are removable, offering several additional benefits, including:

You can eat and drink whatever you want without food restrictions
Brushing and flossing remain simple and effective, supporting better oral hygiene
You can remove them for special occasions if necessary
There are fewer emergency appointments for broken wires or brackets

Dental hygiene visits and checkups are also straightforward and convenient, as your aligners can be removed during these appointments.

Treatment Timeline: What to Expect

The duration of clear aligner treatment varies depending on your specific orthodontic needs. Many of our patients complete treatment in approximately 6–12 months depending on complexity and compliance.

Consultation

Digital scan & personalized plan created with orthodontic oversight

Weeks 1–4

First aligners delivered; wear 20–22 hrs/day, switching trays every 7–10 days

Every 6–8 Weeks

Progress check-ups to monitor movement & provide the next aligner sets

6–12 Months

Most cases complete; complex cases may extend beyond one year

Retention

Retainers fitted to preserve your results and prevent relapse long-term

During your consultation at our Englewood office, Dr. Golnaz will provide a personalized timeline based on your unique situation.

The treatment process begins with a comprehensive evaluation using our advanced digital scanning technology. These scans create a precise 3D model of your teeth, allowing for detailed treatment planning. Once your custom aligners are fabricated, you’ll wear each set for approximately 7–10 days before progressing to the next in the series. Regular check-ups every 6–8 weeks allow us to monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments.

Orthodontic Oversight Matters

Tooth movement is complex. Creating a beautiful smile is only one part of successful orthodontic treatment. Teeth also need to move in a way that protects the bite, gums, jaw joints, and long-term stability of the smile.

That is why Dr. Golnaz partners with Dr. Matthew Stout, a board-certified orthodontist through BeSmyle, on every clear aligner case. This collaborative approach allows us to combine:

Advanced Orthodontic Planning

Board-certified oversight on every case for precise, safe tooth movement.

Digital Smile Design

3D simulation of your final result before treatment even begins.

Comprehensive Dental Evaluation

Full-mouth health assessment so treatment supports overall oral wellness.

Functional Bite Analysis

Ensuring jaw joints, chewing forces, and bite balance are protected throughout.

Long-Term Restorative Considerations

Treatment planning with your future dental health and restorative needs in mind.

Our goal is never simply “straight teeth.” Our goal is healthy, stable, beautiful teeth that function well for years to come.

How Clear Aligners Compare to Traditional Braces

When considering orthodontic treatment, understanding the differences between clear aligners and traditional braces helps you make an informed decision. While both options effectively straighten teeth, they differ significantly in appearance, comfort, maintenance, and certain treatment capabilities.

	Clear Aligners	Traditional Braces
Appearance	Nearly invisible	Visible metal brackets & wires
Comfort	Smooth plastic, no irritation	Can irritate cheeks & gums
Removability	Removable for eating & cleaning	Fixed — cannot be removed
Oral Hygiene	Easy brushing & flossing	Harder to clean around brackets
Diet Restrictions	None — remove to eat anything	Must avoid hard & sticky foods
Complex Cases	Increasingly effective; orthodontist-overseen	Better suited for severe misalignments
Compliance Required	20–22 hours/day wear	Always on — no compliance needed

Invisalign vs. Other Clear Aligner Brands

The clear aligner market offers several treatment options, with Invisalign being one of the most recognized brands. At Sopris Smiles, we work with multiple clear aligner systems to provide the best solution for each patient’s unique needs.

What sets our approach apart is our collaboration with BeSmyle, where board-certified orthodontist Dr. Matthew Stout consults on all our clear aligner cases. This partnership ensures you receive treatment planned with specialized orthodontic expertise, regardless of which aligner system is used. The combined expertise of our dental team and the results of orthodontic consultations lead to more precise treatment planning and superior outcomes.

Clear Aligners for Complex Orthodontic Cases

While clear aligners are often associated with mild to moderate orthodontic corrections, advances in technology have expanded their applications. Today’s aligners can address increasingly complex cases that previously required traditional braces.

For cases involving significant bite issues or severe misalignments, we take a comprehensive approach. Our digital scanning technology allows for precise evaluation of your orthodontic needs. In some instances, we may recommend a hybrid approach, starting with traditional braces for major movements and finishing with clear aligners for fine-tuning.

Our partnership with a board-certified orthodontist ensures we can confidently treat even challenging cases, providing personalized solutions that achieve optimal results while maximizing the benefits of clear aligner technology.

Our Clear Aligner Treatment Process in Englewood

Your clear aligner journey begins with a comprehensive consultation and digital scan of your teeth. Clear aligners operate on a simple yet effective principle: consistent, gentle pressure to move teeth into optimal alignment. This allows us to map out your entire treatment process from start to finish, with each stage of tooth movement planned with precision and efficiency.

Digital Planning and Precision

Our partnership with BeSmyle and Dr. Matthew Stout, a board-certified orthodontist who consults on all our cases, sets our clear aligner treatment apart. This collaboration provides an additional layer of specialized expertise that many general dental practices cannot offer. We combine this professional knowledge with state-of-the-art technology, including digital scanning and treatment planning tools.

This digital approach allows us to preview your expected results before treatment even begins, giving you a clear understanding of the process and outcome.

Caring for Your Clear Aligners

Properly maintaining your clear aligners is essential for successful treatment and oral health. We recommend cleaning your aligners each morning and evening with a soft toothbrush and lukewarm water. Avoid using hot water, which can warp the plastic, and toothpaste, which can scratch and cloud the material.

When not wearing your aligners, always store them in their protective case to prevent damage or loss. Remember to remove aligners before eating or drinking anything besides water, and brush your teeth before reinserting them to prevent staining and decay.

Regular check-ups at our Englewood office allow us to monitor your progress and provide fresh aligners as needed. Following our care instructions ensures your treatment progresses smoothly and delivers the results you desire.

Is Clear Aligner Treatment Right for You?

Clear aligners can successfully treat many common orthodontic concerns, including:

Crowded Teeth

Overlapping or tightly packed teeth that are difficult to clean properly.

Gaps & Spacing

Unwanted spaces between teeth that affect bite function and smile aesthetics.

Crossbites

Upper and lower teeth that don’t meet correctly, causing uneven wear.

Overbites

Upper front teeth that overlap too far over the lower teeth.

Underbites

Lower teeth that sit in front of the upper teeth when biting.

Open Bites

Upper and lower teeth that don’t meet at all when the mouth is closed.

Mild–Moderate Bite Discrepancies

Bite irregularities that affect chewing, speech, or jaw comfort.

Post-Orthodontic Relapse

Teeth that have shifted after previous orthodontic treatment.

Clear aligners are also an ideal option for adults who have had braces in the past and have experienced relapse. Thanks to digital treatment planning, aligners can be customized for precise movements and aesthetic goals, making them one of the most flexible and discreet solutions in modern orthodontics.

Adults are increasingly choosing clear aligners because they fit naturally into professional and active lifestyles while offering highly aesthetic treatment. Recent studies show that clear aligner therapy often achieves success rates exceeding 90% when used appropriately, especially in adult cases. The biggest factor in success? Wearing your aligners as directed!

During your consultation, we use advanced digital scanning technology to evaluate your teeth, bite, gum health, and overall oral condition before designing a customized treatment plan. At your consultation, Dr. Golnaz will evaluate your smile and let you know if aligners are right for you. If you’re ready for straighter teeth and a confident smile without the bulky brackets and wires of traditional braces, clear aligners might be the perfect fit.

Frequently Asked Questions About Clear Aligners

Are clear aligners the same as Invisalign®?

Our clear aligners work similarly to Invisalign®, using a series of custom-made trays to move teeth gradually. At Sopris Smiles, we primarily work with BeSmyle and orthodontic planning alongside Dr. Matthew Stout to create highly customized treatment plans.

How long does clear aligner treatment take?

Most cases take approximately 6–12 months, though more complex cases may take longer depending on the amount of tooth movement needed and patient compliance.

Do clear aligners hurt?

Most patients experience mild pressure or soreness for a few days when switching to a new aligner set. This is a normal sign that the teeth are moving.

Can clear aligners improve gum health?

Yes. Straighter teeth are generally easier to clean and maintain, which can reduce plaque accumulation, inflammation, and periodontal concerns. Proper tooth alignment can also help distribute biting forces more evenly and reduce excessive wear.

Are clear aligners only cosmetic?

No. While clear aligners certainly improve smile esthetics, orthodontic treatment also supports:

Better bite function
Easier oral hygiene
Reduced tooth wear
Improved periodontal health
Long-term stability of the teeth

How often will I need visits during treatment?

Most patients are seen approximately every 6–8 weeks for progress checks and aligner updates.

Will I need retainers after treatment?

Yes. Retainers are essential after orthodontic treatment to help maintain your results and prevent teeth from shifting over time.
